The Halifax Pride Project was an installation between July 16 and 26, 2020 in Victoria Park, Halifax. This project was a way for the public to share positive messages with the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The public contributed by sharing their messages on an online forum, which we then printed off and strung up with twinkle lights.

We asked the public:

“Have a message to share with your 2SLGBTQ+ community? Words of empowerment? A call to action? A shout out to those who inspire you? Submit messages below to be printed off and put up during the Halifax Pride Festival July 16 to 26, 2020!”

And we received lots of beautiful responses. Thank you to Halifax Pride and to all those who participated in this project!

PBJ Design acknowledges that our projects take place in Mi’Kma’ki, on the traditional unceded lands of the Mi’kmaq People. Placemaking is nothing without the land and communities we work in, and we acknowledge that this place is Mi’Kma’ki. For more information, click here.
